Is EconCon 2020 still happening?
Unfortunately, it is not. We were excited to make EconCon 2020 happen this year but due to the public health crisis we know an in-person gathering of hundreds of attendees and speakers will not be safe and productive. To do our part responsibly responding to and managing the escalating crises at hand, we’re canceling EconCon 2020’s in person gathering.
We cannot gather in person in July, but we know our work to build an economy that works for us all cannot wait until the pandemic is over. Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements on how we plan to adjust our programming, repackage EconCon‘s content, and move forward with these critical conversations. If you have questions in the meantime, please email us at info@EconCon2020.org
I am registered for EconCon 2020 already, what does that mean?
All previous attendee registrations will be canceled and refunded automatically. You will receive an email once we have initiated the cancellation/refund process and there is no action required from you at this time.
If you previously received a discount code to register for EconCon, please be on the lookout for separate communication with instructions and next steps to activate your previous registration rate.
I am a financial aid recipient, what do I need to know?
If you previously applied and were awarded financial aid, please anticipate receiving separate communication regarding next steps regarding registration and travel. If you were awarded travel we will be automatically cancelling flights via our travel agent.
I booked a hotel room on my own for EconCon 2020, what happens to my reservation?
All hotel reservations that the EconCon team booked (for speakers, financial aid recipients, etc.) under the EconCon room block will be cancelled. If you booked your own reservation you should reach out to the hotel immediately to cancel your reservation. We will reach back out to all financial aid recipients and speakers with next steps regarding their hotel reservations.
